ECaR Introduction

The Every Child a Reader project (ECaR) in Cheshire East is run by Megan Dixon from the Aspirer Teaching Alliance and provides the highest quality training for schools in the teaching and learning of Literacy.

At the heart of Every Child a Reader is the effective one to one literacy intervention Reading Recovery.

Megan is an accredited Reading Recovery Teacher Leader through the Institute of Education, University of London and an Associate of the International Literacy Centre, IoE, University of London (see http://ilc.ioe.ac.uk/rr.html). She trains and supports Reading Recovery teachers across Cheshire and The Wirral, and teaches in Reading Recovery at Ash Grove Academy, an outstanding school (Ofsted, Feb 2013) in Macclesfield, Cheshire.

Megan is also an accredited trainer for Boosting Reading@Primary (BR@P), Inference Training, Talking Partners, Talk Boost (ICAN), FFT Wave 3 Literacy intervention, and is an Excellence in Literacy Quality Mark Assessor (http://excellenceinliteracy.co.uk). She provides guidance and support in developing quality first teaching for children in Literacy for both primary and secondary schools. Details of upcoming courses can be found on the calendar.
